A Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) team arrested Thaiyalnayagi, a woman sub-inspector of survey in Tiruchi East taluk office on Friday on charges of demanding and obtaining ₹13,000 as bribe from a woman who had sought sub-division patta.
A DVAC press release said Rabiya had purchased a piece of land at Kottapattu in the name of her husband Basheer Ahmed. She approached Thaiyalnayagi on Thursday seeking sub division patta. The woman official had demanded ₹13,000 as bribe to get the work done. Ms. Rabiya lodged a complaint with the DVAC, Tiruchi unit on Friday.
