Woman hacked to death in Rajanna Sircilla district

A 60 year old woman was hacked to death by a youth in Chandurthi mandal headquarters town of Rajanna Sircilla district on Monday evening.

The police identified the accused as Manoj, 25, and the deceased as Mallavva, both natives of Chadurthi.

According to sources, Manoj allegedly waylaid Mallavva at a local temple on the outskirts of Chandurthi and hacked her to death with a sickle. Police suspect a land dispute to be the motive behind the gruesome murder.

The Chandurthi police have registered a case and launched a search to nab the accused, who is at large.
