Labour Minister and district in charge for Dharwad Santosh Lad has said that to extend healthcare benefits to workers and their family members, health check-up was being conducted through mobile clinics at construction sites and workplaces.

He flagged off three mobile clinics for workers provided to the district under the ‘Sanchari Arogya Clinic’ scheme in Dharwad on Tuesday. The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru last month.

The Minister said that through the mobile clinics the health of workers and their family members was being checked through 20 different parameters. “The documents pertaining to their health check will directly reach the Labour Department through online mode and the documents will be authenticated online,” he said.

Mr. Lad called on agencies that had received the work orders to prepare and get the route maps of the mobile clinics every month. The maps should be prepared and confirmed 15 days in advance and there should be proper awareness on the routes that the clinics would be operating on, he said.

“The maps will be prepared in such a manner to reach all areas of all the taluks in the Assembly segments. While preparing route maps it must be ensured that there is less travel time and the clinics are parked at a location for at least four hours,” he explained.

The Minister also said that there would be 25 medical equipment, five laboratories, and 37 various medical consumables in the mobile clinics and the officials of the department would monitor and ensure the availability.

MLA and Deputy Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Arvind Bellad presided over the function.

MLA N.H. Konaraddi, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu, ZP CEO Bhuvanesh Patil, Superintendent of Police Gopal Byakod, Municipal Commissioner Rudresh Ghali, HDUDA chairman Shakir Sanadi, Assistant Commissioner of Labour Sachin and others were present.
