Air India flight A1357 operating from Tokyo to Delhi was diverted to Kolkata on Sunday, June 29, due to persistent warm temperature in the cabin.
The aircraft landed safely in Kolkata and is currently undergoing checks, said Air India spokesperson.
Flight AI357 – a Boeing 787 operating from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Delhi, was diverted mid-way after the crew reported a “persistent warm temperature” inside the cabin. The decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety and comfort, Air India said.
“Our ground colleagues in Kolkata are providing all necessary support to passengers to minimise the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen diversion. Alternative arrangements are being made to fly our passengers to Delhi at the earliest.
We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers,” the airline said in its statement.
