There are allegations that During the Gazetted Probationers Mains Examination conducted by the Karnataka Public Services Commission (KPSC) across the State on Monday, the question paper was leaked at an examination centre in Bengaluru before the exam began.

Candidates alleged that the seal of the question paper bundle was opened before it was  brought to the BBMP Composite PU College examination centre in Kasturba Nagar, Bengaluru.

‘KPSC officials assaulted candidates’

Candidates have also alleged that KPSC officials assaulted the candidates who questioned them about the seal of the question paper bundle being opened before the exam started at the centre.

Before opening the bundle, signatures have to be obtained from candidates. However, at this particular centre, candidates allegedly found the seal already opened when presented to them for their signature. They objected to this and demanded that KPSC officials be intimated, failing which they would boycott the exams. However, the issue was brought to the notice of the principal of the college and the students wrote the exam.

After the exam, the candidates insisted that it be recorded that the question paper bundle was opened prior to being brought to the centre. This allegedly led to a war of words with KPSC officials at the centre. Finally, the supervisor of the centre, wrote in the affidavit, that the bundle had arrived open.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly R. Ashok criticised the State government for “its inability to conduct KPSC exams without any goof-ups”.
