In a major anti-encroachment operation, unauthorised structures in the layout of Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative Housing Society near Sandhya Convention, Gachibowli, were demolished by Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Tuesday (May 6, 2025).
The layout was subjected to various encroachments, including illegal constructions on land earmarked for roads and parks. These structures were built without proper permissions, and complaints were received about them obstructing access to existing plots, as per an official statement.

HYDRAA teams were deployed to remove these structures including mini halls, kitchens, and restrooms adjacent to the Sandhya Convention area. Makeshift tin fencing erected by encroachers was also dismantled. Three iron sheds, with ground plus two floors, were also brought down during the operation, the note said.
