More than 90% of students from 134 higher secondary schools under the administrative control of the Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare in Tamil Nadu have passed the Class 12 examinations in the academic year 2024-25, for which the results were declared on Thursday (May 8, 2025).
According to official sources, 6,152 students from 98 Adi Dravidar Welfare and 36 Tribal Welfare higher secondary schools appeared for the exams this academic year. Out of 4,640 students from the Adi Dravidar Welfare schools, 4,262 students passed the exams. The overall pass percentage of students from these schools stood at 91.85 — considerably higher than the previous three academic years. The pass percentage was 91.15 in 2023-24, 88 in 2022-23, and 83 in 2021-22. As many as 24 Adi Dravidar Welfare schools recorded 100% pass this year.
The performance of students from Tribal Welfare schools and Eklavya Model Residential schools also improved this academic year. As many as 1,444 out of 1,512 students from these schools passed the exam. The pass percentage stood at 95.50 — a marginal increase from 95.15 in the previous academic year. A total of 12 out of 36 Tribal Welfare schools secured cent per cent results.
