NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha has asked the officers of various departments and the public to be aware on preventing fire accidents, particularly during the summer season.
He directed the AP Fire Services Department officials to conduct mock operations, explain the people on precautions to be taken to avoid fire accidents and on how to respond during fire mishaps.
Mr. Lakshmisha participated in the mock drill organised by a team of fire personnel, headed by District Fire Officer A.V. Shankar Rao at the Collectorate on Monday (May 12,2025).
“Public should have knowledge on prevention of fire caused due to LPG cylinders, electric short circuits, fuels and chemicals, and on how to extinguish flames,” the Collector said.
The station fire officers, and the firemen should explain the public on how to rescue the victims from high rise buildings, hospitals, schools, apartments, temples and commercial complex during fire accidents, he said.
“Public should not get panic during fire mishaps. They should think on how to protect themselves and save the lives of those trapped in fire,” Mr. Lakshmisha said.
The vehicle riders should respond quickly on the road, pave way to the fire tenders in emergency, which will reach the spot on time and save the victims, he said.
Students, women, employees of private organisations and all government sectors should have knowledge on utilising the fire fighting equipment, the Collector said.
