Only seven of 612 Telangana mandals did not receive rain

Only seven the 612 mandals in Telangana did not receive rains from Wednesday (May 21, 2025) to Thursday morning (8.30 a.m.). The highest of 116.9 mm rainfall was recorded in Masaipet, Medak. In Hyderabad, Saidabad recorded the maximum rainfall of 75.3mm, according to data from Telangana Development Planning Society.

The highest temperature in the State dropped to 38.2C, recorded in Hajipur of Mancherial. The maximum temperature in Hyderabad was 35.4C, Ranga Reddy recorded 35.5C and 35.6C in Medchal Malkajgiri. Less than 35C was recorded in five districts. 

India Meteorological Department on Wednesday has forecast heavy rain in eight districts and thunderstorms in 25 districts on Thursday (May 22, 2025). In its impact based forecast issued in the morning, Hyderabad and surrounding areas were predicted to be covered with clouds today. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds(40-50 kmph) are likely to occur in the city.
