ACB warns against fake calls targeting govt. staff

by AutoTrendly

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) warned the public and government employees against private individuals impersonating ACB officers and attempting to extort money by threatening public servants with fabricated legal action.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ACB revealed that in one case, a complaint was registered at the Tekulapally Police Station in Khammam district, where impostors reportedly demanded bribes from government employees for not filing cases against them.

“ACB officials never call public servants asking for money not to register cases against them,” the Bureau made it clear.

The ACB has also urged anyone receiving such fake calls to report them immediately by dialling their toll-free helpline 1064. Victims are also encouraged to inform their local police stations. In addition, ACB Telangana can be contacted via WhatsApp at 9440446106, on Facebook (Telangana ACB), or on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @TelanganaACB.
