Tanker owners call off strike

Members of the Chennai and Asanur Petroleum Tanker Lorry Owners Welfare Association on Wednesday called off their strike demanding that Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) increase rates in its transport tenders. In a release here, the Association said that after discussions members, they thought it unfair on the public to continue with the strike. They requested time to take part in the new tenders being currently floated. The tanker owners had been on strike and refused to supply fuel to retail outlets for the past four days.
