GRP seize 60-kg ganja from Katpadi Railway Station 

The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized a consignment of 60 kg of ganja from the Dibrugarh—Kanyakumari Vivek Express train at Katpadi Railway Station here on Saturday.

The police said, a GRP team had been conducting a surprise inspection when they found the contraband. While searching the train, which was on its way to Kanyakumari, the team found bags containing the ganja abandoned near a washroom.

Initial inquiry revealed that four persons had abandoned the consignment inside the train and fled the spot. The police analysed CCTV footages to nab the suspects.

A probe is under way.
