Hyderabad

Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has expressed concern that in an era of global warming, not planting enough trees may result in future generations having to wear oxygen masks to breathe.

On Thursday, the Minister planted a sapling at the Golkonda Area Hospital in the city as part of World Environment Day celebrations. He called upon everyone to join hands for environmental protection and to accept tree planting as a social responsibility.

Earlier, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asked people to re-dedicate themselves to doing their best to bring sustainability to every aspect of their lives by respecting nature and its boundaries.

He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to protecting nature through rejuvenation, recycling, and reuse. He sought the cooperation of people to make Telangana the greenest, cleanest, and most environmental-friendly State.
