Vaikom land board orders acquisition of 70.86 acres of surplus land

The Vaikom Taluk Land Board has ordered the acquisition of 70.86 acres of surplus land identified in the villages of Vadayar and Kulasekharamangalam in Vaikom taluk and Elamkulam village in Kanayannur taluk, Ernakulam district.

Out of this, 55.72 acres, currently occupied as a rubber plantation, was found to have been illegally converted from its original classification. As a result, a Land Board meeting decided to reclaim this land as surplus and hand it over to the government.

The Land Board chairman directed the tahsildars of Vaikom and Kanayannur to take necessary action to ensure timely acquisition of these properties
