As part of the nationwide strike to oppose the Centre’s Labour Codes and government policies, a massive rally was held in Bobbili on Wednesday, led by various workers’ associations, highlighting the plight of workers of the Bobbili growth center, one of the oldest industrial park in the State
Rythu Coolie Sangham of Andhra Pradesh State Secretary and Bobbili Town Kalasi (Labourers) Sangham Secretary Dantuluri Varma, on Wednesday alleged that the Union government was taking decisions in favour of corporate companies in spite of the strong objections from farmers, labourers and tribal people in the country.
Mr. Varma said that the Centre has been handing over valuable lands and forests to corporate companies in the name of monetisation and development of the country. “The government scrapped 46 Labour Laws in the country and introduced so called four labour codes to benefit the corporate companies. It should immediately scrap those codes and fix ₹26,000 minimum wage for the workers. It should also come out with a law to ensure minimum support price for all agriculture productions. Then only, the farmers’ interests will be protected.”
Bobbili Pattana Kalasi Sangham president Bogadhi Appala Swamyu, vice-president Piridi Apparao, treasurer Paila Ramakrishna along with others were present.
