After receiving moderate to heavy rain in its coastal districts for more than a week, the State is likely to see a subdued rainfall activity from July 28 up to August 2, according to information from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati.
On Saturday (July 26) as well the State received only moderate rainfall, the highest of which was recorded in Paderu of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, at 70 mm. Other places in the State received less than 50 mm rainfall between 8.30 a.m. and 7 p.m., according to realtime rainfall information by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics.
On July 27, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Alluri Sitaramaraju and Parvatipuram Manyam districts may receive light to moderate rains. Isolated or scattered rains have been forecast for the other districts.
From Monday, there will be little to no rains in the State. However, isolated places in the State may see thunderstorms, accompanied with lightning and strong winds.
A.P. State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) managing director Prakhar Jain has asked people in low-lying areas of the Krishna, Godavari and Tungabhadra to be cautious and not to go for swimming or use boats in these rivers.
