India Meteorological Department released forecast for second half of 2025 monsoon

Telangana is expected to receive normal to above normal rainfall during the second half of the southwest monsoon season, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) latest long-range forecast for August to September 2025. The forecast was released on Thursday (July 31, 2025).
The IMD’s projection places most of Telangana in the category likely to receive rainfall above the long period average (LPA) during August and September, aligning with national trends. For the country as a whole, the rainfall during this two-month period is expected to be above normal.
In terms of temperatures, the forecast indicates that maximum temperatures across Telangana are expected to remain normal to slightly above normal in August. Minimum temperatures are also expected to be normal to above normal, consistent with most parts of the country. The department will issue a more detailed forecast for September towards the end of August.
