Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and co-founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Shibu Soren passed away on Monday (August 4, 2025), his son and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren announced through social media platform X.
Shibu Soren had been admitted to the Sri Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital for over a month due to a kidney-related issue.
A hospital bulletin said Shibu Soren was declared dead at 8:56 a.m. on Monday (August 4, 2025). Shibu Soren had suffered a stroke one and a half months back and was on a life support system for the last month. He was under the treatment of Dr. A.K. Bhalla , Chairman, Nephrology and a team from Neurology and ICU, hospital sources told The Hindu.
The 81-year-old leader had been the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for the past 38 years and is recognised as the party’s founding patron.
