Four sovereigns of gold jewellery stolen from house in Thanjavur

Four sovereigns of gold jewellery has been reportedly stolen from a house at Thanjavur while the inmates were fast asleep on August 8.

According to the police, the complainant, Veeramanikandan of Thamizh Nagar, Medical College Road, lodged a complaint with the Medical College Police stating that some one had entered his house on Friday night and took away gold jewellery kept in the steel cupboard.

The theft came to light on Saturday morning when he woke up. He and his family had slept in the master bedroom while the cupboard was in another room.

As there was no damage to the doors of the house, the Medical College Police pressed the dog squad and finger print bureau personnel into service.
