ONGC told to allocate fund for mangrove conservation, fisheries development in Konaseema

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar has directed the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to allocate funds under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the conservation of Kandikuppa and Vaasalatippa mangroves, development of fisheries, and strengthening of drainage systems in the district.

Discussions were held between the ONGC Rajahmundry Asset CSR wing representative K.V.K. Raju, District fisheries officer P.V. Srinivasa Rao, AP Pollution Control Board executive engineer Mr. Sankar Rao and Green Climate Fund (UNDP-GCF) representative Mr. Harsha on the proposed initiatives.

The ONGC has been asked to come up with their funding allocation for the respective initiatives by September 30 when the final decisions would be made.
