The Christian Medical College (CMC) has organised a two-day celebration of “Hospital Day 2025” on its campus in Vellore to mark 125 years of its compassionate service to the nation.
According to a press release, the celebrations featured over 100 stalls and workshops related to clinical services, education, research, peripheral services, support, and engineering services. Interactive workshops focused on basic life support, blood donation, organ donation, and chest pain resuscitation training, offering valuable insights to participants. The celebration drew more than 2,500 students from 22 schools and seven colleges across Vellore and Ranipet districts, along with over 9,000 members of the general public, reflecting strong community engagement.
Collector V.R. Subbulaxmi inaugurated the event in the presence of Mayor Sujatha Anandakumar. The CMC director, Vikram Mathews, commended the staff for their dedication to medical service. I. Rajesh, CMC medical superintendent, Alice Sony, nursing superintendent, and Shandrila Gnanatheebam, Dean, College of Nursing (CMC) were present on the occasion, the release said.
